Why we make these

We started Golden Forged because we couldn't find a desk setup that felt like it was made by a person. Everything out there was either cheap and hollow or expensive and cold, so we started building our own, and people kept asking where we got it. That's the whole origin story. Golden Forged is two of us in a shop in north alabama, and that's the whole company.

There's no supplier overseas and no white label. The maple gets picked out by hand, glued up on our bench, sanded by hand, and finished with an oil that soaks into the wood instead of sealing it under plastic. The legs are printed in our own shop on our own machines, which is why you can pick a style and a color instead of taking whatever happens to be in a warehouse. When you order one, one of us builds it. So, every piece that you purchase will be uniquely made for you.

Maple is honest material. Every board comes out a little different, so your riser won't match the photo exactly. There will be grain and color and the occasional mineral streak that no two pieces share. We could sand that character out and stain everything uniform, but we don't. You're buying a piece of a tree and it should still look like one.

All this serves to lifts your monitor to where your neck wants it. The solid maple riser gives you your desk back. You'll admire this piece for a lifetime, someone made it with purpose, that's the part we care about.
